What is JOB NET BOOT CAMP?


  1. A 2 day hands-on boot camp:

  2. Find out where the legal jobs are and how to source them

  3. Critique and rewrite your resume to attract targeted employers

  4. Prepare and practise for a interview - learn assertive interviewee techniques that build your self-sell confidence to land that all important first job!

  5. Meet other Canada Law From Abroad law graduates and create a personalized support ‘job hunting’ network.

  6. A 1 day follow-up:

  7. Regroup to share job hunting and interviewing experiences with colleagues.

  8. Learn from others’ mistakes and successes to refine your own job hunting knowledge and skills!


Who is eligible for JOB NET BOOT CAMP?


  1. All students who have registered with Canada Law From Abroad as their registered UCAS advisor and are presently attending or attended one of the CLFA preferred law schools.


What is the cost and when is JOB NET BOOT CAMP?

  1. A $200. fee for location and material costs.

  2. Early June 2012.

  3. Location: TBA


Why attend JOB NET BOOT CAMP?


  1. A law degree doesn’t get you a job.

  2. Putting a JD label on an LLB degree isn’t going to make a difference.

  3. Read the Globe and Mail’s law page November 2nd, 2011( Law Profession faces an articling crisis). Follow The Federation of Canadian Law Societies (FLSC) debate within the legal profession on how to fix the traditional ‘articling structure’ associated with entry level legal positions that is breaking down.
