John G. Kelly’s email:
I am John G. Kelly president of Canada Law From Abroad. and based on my experiences as a lawyer and law professor I developed a professional education mission. In 2006 I created the unique international education bridge, Canada Law From Abroad, to provide Canadian students who are frustrated with the barriers and costs of Canadian law schools with an opportunity to obtain a first-rate legal education in the U.K., the birthplace of the common law system and hub for innovation in the evolution of global legal services.
I have undertaken extensive research and become a U.K. legal education expert by:
✓visiting the U.K. numerous times and conducting on-site visits with the deans/faculty of candidate law schools.
✓analyzing candidate law schools programs and curriculum looking for the most innovative legal studies not available in Canada.
✓zeroing in on those U.K. law schools that are consistently ranked in the top-20.
✓identifying U.K. law schools that, in addition to the 3 year LLB, offer “two year accelerated LLB degrees”, 2 year graduate JD degrees and “combined” 3 year LLB/LLM degrees.
✓choosing law schools in central/southern England which are an easy rail commutes of London.
The end result is the development of Canada Law From Abroad’s Preferred U.K. Law Schools comprised of the following 8 top-tier U.K. law schools that provide Canadian students with a manageable number to choose from:
1.University of Birmingham
2.University of Bristol
3.City University London
4.University of Exeter
5.University of Kent
6.Queen Mary University of London
7.University of Southampton
8.University of Sussex
Within this group of preferred U.K. law schools how do you find out which law school provides you with the best match for your legal career aspirations?
