We will use these results to gauge where the majority of students are in their preparations, particularly with visas, and determine whether we are able to provide any further assistance.

Who is your student advisor?

Have you read Canada Law from Abroad's visa guidance package as well as all visa information you have received from your university?

You might think it's too early to read through the visa guidance if you are still waiting for decisions from your university choices or you still have a conditional offer. It's a great idea to familiarize yourself with the visa process early. It's a tedious and some aspects require planning in advance.

Have you accepted an offer to a UK university?

What is the official start date for your program?

Have you already applied or do you intend to apply for a visa this summer and begin your studies in the UK in the fall? (i.e. a September or October start)

Do you have both your CAS and your proof of funding documents (required for visa) in hand or will you by the end of the week?

If you do not have your proof of funding documents ready, please let your advisor know when you anticipate those documents to be ready.

Which VFS centre would you hope to use to apply for your visa (i.e. which is your NEAREST centre)?

If you have a biometric appointment scheduled already, when it is booked for?

At which centre did you book your biometric appointment?

How long did it take you to receive a decision on your visa application after mailing in your passport?

An estimate is fine, we would like to keep an eye on what current processing times are like so that we can warn other students who are still applying.

Canada Law from Abroad has negotiated Saturday appointments for our students with the VFS centre in Toronto. Are you interested in utilising this option to secure a biometrics appointment?

There is a fee to attend an exclusive appointment payable directly to the VFS centre as part of their booking fee. This would include roundtrip courier (mailing your visa package to be processed and shipping your passport back to your home). In 2022 the fee was $190. The fee for 2023 is not yet confirmed but will be made clear to you before you secure a place. It is entirely optional to use these appointments.
