Intro

The University of Sussex is an excellent example of a southern university. Located at Falmer on the outskirts of Brighton, we are the only UK University surrounded by a national park. We’re just nine minutes from Brighton, one of the top-10 city beach destinations in the world (Lonely Planet) and an hour away from Central London by train and 30 minutes from London Gatwick, one of the UK's major international airports.

Sussex Law School provides a truly international, stimulating and engaging learning environment for you to build a rich base of knowledge. We’re recognised as a world-leading research centre and our research underpins our teaching. Our courses are designed with skills training at their core, enabling you to think logically about legal problems and prepare you for your future career. The school offers various practical skills-based courses including: mooting, client interviewing, negotiation, criminal advocacy, and the opportunity to provide legal advice to the public through the Sussex Law Clinic.

Sussex Law School has developed solid links with Canada and there are now more than 100 Canadian students studying law. This strong Canadian influence on campus is reflected in the existence of the Canadian Student Law Society. Our staff produce ground-breaking research across a range of areas including the use of Canadian case law by the Supreme Court of New Zealand and comparative family law research in Canada and the UK focusing on the legal regulation of same-sex parenting.

Testimonials

I do not think I would be where I am today without the CLFA team. I can full heartedly recommend this organisation to anyone interested in pursuing a career in law.
Applying to law school was stressful and scary, but it was a much easier experience with an advisor who was there to help me along the way.
After getting in contact with John G. Kelly at Canada Law from Abroad, I was convinced going abroad for law school was my destiny.

" I chose Sussex because it was the only University that taught Canadian content and I wanted to give myself the option of staying in the UK or going back to Canada. My greatest achievement was coming 2nd place in the Canadian Constitutional Moot. It was really great to have been placed so highly and to be a part of such prestigious moots like the Inner Temple Inter-Varsity Moot. I am currently being interviewed for several positions at legal services in Vancouver, Canada. "
