University of Sussex
The University of Sussex is an excellent example of a southern university. Located at Falmer on the outskirts of Brighton, Sussex is the only UK University surrounded by a national park. The university is located just nine minutes from Brighton, one of the top-10 city beach destinations in the world (Lonely Planet) and an hour away from Central London by train and 30 minutes from London Gatwick, one of the UK's major international airports.
Sussex Law School provides a truly international, stimulating and engaging learning environment for you to build a rich base of knowledge. Sussex is recognised as a world-leading research centre and the university's research underpins their teaching. Sussex' courses are designed with skills training at their core, enabling you to think logically about legal problems and prepare you for your future career. The Law School offers various practical skills-based courses including: mooting, client interviewing, negotiation, criminal advocacy, and the opportunity to provide legal advice to the public through the Sussex Law Clinic.
Sussex Law School has developed solid links with Canada and there are now more than 100 Canadian students studying law. This strong Canadian influence on campus is reflected in the existence of the Canadian Student Law Society. The Sussex staff produce ground-breaking research across a range of areas including the use of Canadian case law by the Supreme Court of New Zealand and comparative family law research in Canada and the UK focusing on the legal regulation of same-sex parenting.

Applying to law school was stressful and scary, but it was a much easier experience with an advisor who was there to help me along the way.

My most rememberable experience studying at the University of Sussex, was the Professors; they were passionate, articulate, and determined to see that the Canadian students not only understood the new grading system, but that we also succeeded in our grades.
