Entry is free and welcome to anyone interested studying in the UK, whether you have already applied or are just interested in more information! Registration can be found at the bottom of the page.
During the event, you will have the opportunity to meet a number of UK Law Schools that have made the trip to Canada in order to speak to students in person. You will also be able to talk to our student advisors (who have studied in the UK themselves) about anything you have questions about. You can book a meeting with an advisor and you can go around to speak to the universities that are at the fair throughout the evening. When you arrive, you will have to "check in" at the information desk! After you have done that, you can walk around the room as you like and talk to universities, advisors and gather information throughout the evening.
1-2-1 ADVISING SESSION WITH AN ADVISOR
During the evening, you will have the opportunity to chat with one of our advisors. If you want an advising session (15 minutes where you can sit and talk one-on-one with an advisor about your application or questions), this must be booked in advance. When you register for the event, you will receive more information on how to book this.
Advising sessions are very popular and fill up very quickly, so sign up early! If you are unable to book an appointment with an advisor, let us know at firstname.lastname@example.org, we can put you on a waitlist or try to find an alternative option for you.
UNIVERSITIES IN ATTENDANCE
Almost all of our university partners will be present at the fair! You can see a complete list on the right of this page. To speak with a university, just go to their booth and feel free to ask them any questions you may have. Don’t be nervous about approaching them – they are very friendly and eager to get to know you! You may even end up having one of the representatives as a professor during your law degree!
TOP TIP: Think about any key questions or concerns you have before the event and write them down. You can bring your list with you to reference when you speak to each university and even take notes to reflect on when the fair is over!
If you don’t have any specific questions that come to mind, just ask them to tell you about their programme, what extracurricular activities are available, such as mooting or law societies, or what sets their university apart from other law schools. If you are trying to narrow down your choices between a few law schools, this is the perfect chance for you to speak with them each and to ask them about the most important factors to for you in choosing your law school.
This is a unique opportunity to talk to the universities at your leisure! It doesn’t have to be only about the law school in particular. Maybe you aren’t sure about living in university accommodation and want to hear about private options near campus. Maybe you are an athlete and want to ensure you’ll have the best chance of continuing with your activities during your studies. Maybe you want to really embrace being in the UK and are looking for a smaller city/university with a “quintessentially British” feel. Or maybe you are really looking forward to travelling during your studies and want to make sure you’ll have great access to travel links. The representatives from each university will be perfect to provide you with insight into all these things.
We will also be having a social meet and greet the following evening. This will be an opportunity to interact casually with representatives from the law school, other students, and most importantly alumni who have completed their law studies in the UK already. It will be a great chance to hear a bit more about their experience during their time in the UK and while transferring back to Canada and seeking employment.
The Alumni Mixer will be held on the evening of 4th March 2023 in Downtown Toronto. The exact location will be provided to after you have registered below.
To come to the event(s), please use the form below to register your interest. This will notify us that you plan on coming and means we will be to notify you of any updates to the program and to send you a reminder closer to the fair. If you aren’t sure whether you’ll be able to attend or not, that’s okay you can either register now and then notify your advisor later on if you won’t be able to make it.
If you would like to schedule an advising session with an advisor during the fair, we recommend that you sign up early because these advising sessions fill up quickly! If you haven’t signed up and decide to attend last minute, or maybe one of your friends is interested in studying law as well and decides to join you, there will still be an opportunity to register at the door. If you have signed up in advance however, it will be faster for you to get in if there is a queue when you arrive.
You will be able to come and go as much as you like during the evening after you register. You can of course bring parents, siblings, friends or even your teacher along with you. Everyone who could benefit from studying in the UK is most welcome! So make the trip even if you just starting to consider studying in the UK in the future, this is not an event just for those who have applied or decided to apply, but for everyone who wants to learn more about what study opportunities exist in the UK.
My advisor was so amazing and accommodating throughout my experience. She helped me to understand the application process, helped me edit my statement, and walked me through everything with so much understanding (I have a very busy schedule, and she was able to work with me around it).
I really enjoyed this service very much. My advisor was the best advisor I could get. She informed me about everything and anything I had asked about. She had even got out of her way to provide me with further details. This is an amazing way to help students go down a smoother pathway and transition with guidance. I really appreciated this very much. Thank you.
I want to thank Canada Law from Abroad for introducing me to Law Schools in the UK and helping me through the entire process.
In 2016, I contacted Canada Law from Abroad to assist me through the application process. I was shocked and I am still shocked that Canada Law from Abroad is a free service available to students considering Law School in the UK.
My advisor was extremely knowledgeable about UK Law Schools and helped me organize and submit my applications. She also helped me through the entire moving transition, including the visa application process. She even continued to follow up with me once I arrived in the UK.
I do not think I would be where I am today without the help of Canada Law from Abroad. I highly recommend Canada Law from Abroad to anyone considering Law School in the UK and urge people to take advantage of their free services!
Canada Law From Abroad is a free service that I feel every aspiring lawyer in Canada should know about coming out of high school. The fact that you can study law in the UK without having to complete a bachelor's is huge, and I wish I knew about this option coming out of high school rather than after I got into University in Canada.
My advisor helped me every step of the way. From creating my application, to checking over my personal statement, she did it all. I was late to apply but my advisor still made sure my application went through in a very timely manner. Furthermore, the help she provided didn't stop at the application process. She then helped me with my visa as well as my accommodation concerns, and continued checking up on me even after I got into law school, consistently going above and beyond.
Canada Law From Abroad is an amazing service, and I recommend anyone who wants to go law school without having to do a 4 years bachelor's degree Canada definitely use it. Thanks to the Canada Law From Abroad team as I'm only a few years shy of becoming a lawyer now.
P.S. The opportunities to travel and explore Europe are both cheap and endless! Definitely a factor in my decision to study in the UK.
Vivian really made my experience with CLFA amazing! She was very helpful and always provided prompt and detailed information. I would definitely recommend CLFA to friends and family. I'm looking forward to starting at the University of Birmingham in September 2018!
I am more than happy with the experience I had with this organization. Vivian helped me with every aspect of this process and I could not be more thankful. I highly recommend using this program if you are interesting in law school abroad.
Canada Law from Abroad is the perfect organization to help any prospective students considering studying law in the UK with the daunting application process. The advisors are patient, resourceful, and on the ball with all your application needs. I am very excited to attend the University of Birmingham for their graduate entry LLB in September 2017, and I would not have been able to do it without Vivian at CLFA! I would highly recommend this organization.
Applying to law school in another country may seem like a daunting task. But with the help of Canada Law From Abroad, it was made simple.
The service CLFA provides is tremendous. Your personal advisor will go through everything with you, step by step. My advisor promptly responded to all my emails within a 24 hour period and must have answered a thousand questions. She was extremely helpful in numerous ways, but particularly with reminding me of critical dates and applications that needed completing. She helped me with picking the right school for me and also making my personal statement appeal to university recruiters.
I couldn't imagine going through this process alone. So in short, deciding to reach out to CLFA was the best decision I could have made. I'm now 10 days away from moving to Birmingham to start law school in the fall. I'm beyond excited and I really couldn't thank my advisor enough for all her help. I will continue to recommend Canada Law From Abroad to anyone considering studying abroad.
Without Canada Law From Abroad, I wouldn't be at law school in the UK right now.
I was thinking about going to the UK to study law, but I had no idea how to get started or where to look. I stumbled upon CLFA and reached out to ask a few questions.
They were extremely helpful! They were patient with me through all my concerns and worries. They helped me with every step of the process: researching different universities, making the actual application, how to accept/decline an offer -- everything.
I'm so grateful to CLFA for making it possible for me to study law!
